Event description

Description

93 Feet East has opened its doors for a new filmmaking event: Pitch & Attract, a welcoming space for people from all realms of the London film scene to connect with one another, and a great platform for projects to flourish and reach new audiences.

Our space is open for two main goals:

1. Pitch!

We want to put the spotlight on up-and-coming filmmakers who need a stage to share their projects with a welcoming crowd. We love to hear about people and their goals, but what we're actually offering you is an opportunity to highlight that one project you really want to get done this year, this summer even, and attract the talented folks you need to make it a reality. What's more, we'll give the crowd a chance to have a say and we'll give a cash prize of £100.00 (One Hundred Pounds) to the most voted pitch of the night. Yes, you read that right, we're actually GIVING MONEY to one of you!

2. Network!

We want to offer a room packed with talented people for you to mingle with, where things are organised in a way that allows you to make the most of your time. Pitching will be done in short blocks so everyone gets a chance to share impressions, approach the pitchers, and come out of it not just with a pile of cards, but with genuine connections to build on.

Additionally, let's get real... A lot of us filmmakers are hopeless introverts, which is why some of us appreciate a little push to get things going. This is why we'll be giving every attendee the opportunity to identify themselves as a filmmaker, an actor, a writer or a post-production creative. This way you'll have a few clear targets out there to get the ball rolling.

Now, we know we're hosting a pretty cool event, but we're also fully aware that we're the new kids in town, which is why we're offering you and your colleagues a pretty sweet deal: Buy a single ticket for £6 (Six Pounds), or buy two tickets for £10 (Ten Pounds). It's always easier to come in twos anyways, so why not take the deal and save a couple of quid in the process?

We look forward to meeting you all and introducing you to our friends! See you there!

After our inaugural smashing success, we're happy to confirm that our partnership with CAHOOTIFY is going strong! Cahootify is an exciting platform with tools to help you build project teams and create an impressive online portfolio like this one - complete with showreel, gallery showcase and biography. The best part? You can join for FREE!

And for anyone pitching, Cahootify will get in touch to help you add your project, current team and roles required - a bit like this. You'll then have a virtual project to complement your Pitch!

FAQs

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but a form of ID will be necessary.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please send an email to magneticfilmnetwork@gmail.com and allow a period of 12 to 24 hours to hear back from us.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds on any tickets, including "The Pitcher" options. If you miss your chosen slot, the organisers will do their best to offer you an alternative, but cannot guarantee it. Slots have been scheduled to offer the most efficient and enjoyable experience for pitchers and attendees, so please be mindful and do your best to be present on time for your chosen slot.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but conditions apply.

As a Pitcher, you may transfer your ticket to someone else up to 72 hours before the event start time (18:00 on Tuesday 03 September 2019). Please inform us of any changes within the timeframe provided, by email to magneticfilmnetwork@gmail.com.

As a Networker, you may transfer your ticket to someone else, but in this case they should be able to produce a digital or physical copy of the ticket at the door.

How long should my pitch be?

The ideal pitch lasts between 1 and 2 minutes. In this case we're giving you the opportunity to hold on to the mic for 3 minutes to make your fellow Pitchers and Networkers feel your passion for your project and earn their love.

I want to be a Pitcher and get a chance to earn the cash prize. How do I choose my pitching slot?

That's great! We've designed the schedule for all pitches to happen within the period likely to be busiest, so everyone gets the biggest possible audience. Our idea is that no slots are better than others, so the choice is entirely up to you. Just make sure to choose the slot that is the most convenient for you, where there's no risk of you being late (or completely out of breath!).
