Event description

Description

A great pitch captures your attention instantly. Our five finalists must begin by pitching just three words to a panel of award-winning judges with professional experience in pitching and film acquisitions. From there, our judges will discuss the merits of each pitch to the audience and finalists, as we discover the secrets to turning an idea into an unforgettable impression. This event is proudly sponsored by the Cambridge Film Unit.

OUR PANEL OF JUDGES INCLUDES:

Bob Benton is the founder and president of Bob & Co, Ltd. He has worked as an investor, an adviser and an executive producer for 20 years on a wide range of films, including the BAFTA nominated and Sundance Award winning, 'Lilting', and has recently launched a new TV production company, Duchess Street Productions, to produce high-end original drama.

Sophie Jackson is the Interim Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Production at Anglia Ruskin University. She has directed and produced multiple short films and television documentaries, which have received almost 20 festival and industry nominations and screenings internationally.

Lucy Richer is a Senior Commissioning Editor at the BBC, where she is responsible for work across the breadth of BBC Drama, from Bafta-winning films Marvellous and Damilola: Our Loved Boy to Jane Campion’s Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Top of the Lake.

EVENT HOST: Ania Magliano-Wright
