'I need to get some PR to get my business more visible - but I don't know where to start.'

'How do I know if I have a story that the press would be interested in?'

'It feels scary to pitch an idea a journalist.'

Sound familiar?

We hear this lots from business owners.

But as PR experts with over 50 years' combined experience of working in media, we can see that EVERY business owner has an amazing story that the press would love!

So, if you're nervous or unsure about putting yourself out there, we've got an idea to change that.

Let's do it together.

Do you run a small business in Yorkshire?

Need some affordable expert help to get featured in the media?

Fancy learning how to pitch regional journalists from two PR experts while networking with a small group of local entrepreneurs?

We'd love you to join us at our new in-person PR workshop.

This will be a small, practical PR skills session in a friendly and supportive environment.

Get clarity around how the media works, learn time-saving hacks to find great story angles, and gain the skills and confidence to pitch journalists.

And by the end of the session, you'll have actually written and sent an email pitch with a story idea about your business.

You'll also get a view of the river at Patch in York - and cake!

Just eight spaces.

Ready to get stuck in?

If you've been delaying doing PR for your business for whatever reason, now is your chance to actually get it DONE in a fun, supportive session.

Together we'll:

• Get laser focused to find the best story angles in your business.

• Study real examples of pitches - the exact emails that have landed us press coverage.

• Write a pitch together that will stand out in a journalist's inbox. We'll guide you through how to structure an email pitch and what to say (and what not to say).

• Send your pitch to a regional journalist. To make sure you get the most out of the event, we'll be on hand with our trusty contacts books to advise on which journalist to send your pitch to.

Meet other business owners

Expect plenty of valuable networking time with other business owners while enjoying tea and cake.

By the end of this workshop, you'll have written and sent a pitch about your business. So, you can close your latop and go home with your PR DONE.

Let us use our combined experience to help get your business the media coverage it deserves (without the big PR agency price tag).

What does 'pitching' journalists mean?

Pitching may sound Dragons Den scary, but it's basically just sending a story idea to journalists.

It's different to a press release, which is usually a news announcement.

A pitch is simply a brief email with a synopsis of your idea. It's shorter, and therefore much quicker to write, than a press release. And it can be far more effective for gaining press coverage as you can tailor it to the titles you'd like to appear in.

It's a win-win.

Why do I need PR?

Getting featured in the press helps you to stand out and builds trust - and people like to buy from businesses they trust. It also gives you credibility.

It's a highly-effective way of reaching a whole new audience (outside your social media bubble) and telling them about what you do, which attracts new clients, even in a tough market.

It's also great for your SEO and gives you lots of easy content to share on your socials and in your newsletter.

This workshop is a cost-effective way for businesses to learn how to tell their stories - at a fraction of the cost of working with a PR professional.

And once you understand how to find story angles for the press and pitch them to journalists, you can use this formula again and again. So all it costs you is your time. If you spend just 15-20 minutes a couple of times a week pitching journalists, you can soon see amazing results.
