We’re pleased to announce that the next Pitch Up will take place at Gulbenkian, University of Kent, Canterbury on Thursday 3 November, 2-5pm in association with the Canterbury Festival.
Pitch Up is a friendly gathering of theatre makers, producers and venue programmers with the aim of encouraging connections and partnerships that can make new ideas happen. You don’t need to pitch to attend Pitch Up - just book your free place at the top of this page.
Pitch Up usually features around 15 pitches from theatre makers and programmers. Our call for pitches is currently open but we already have confirmation from the following programmers (and we welcome theatre makers' pitches that align with their ambitions):
The Marlowe Studio, Canterbury - focused on developing new writing and creating opportunities for local artists (eg through local casting)
Folkestone Quarterhouse - investing in new work that is co-created with local audiences
Theatre Royal Margate - supporting a range of work but especially interested in projects that engage with Margate and its communities
Something to pitch?
Pitch Up is aimed at artists and producers with an idea for a new show or an innovative approach to touring an existing production; and at venues looking to collaborate with a theatre maker to reach particular audiences, develop specific programming strands, or enliven their buildings.
To apply for an 8minute slot, submit an idea by midnight on Friday 7 October. Visit the Pitch Up page of the house website for more information.
