Are you a private investor, business angel, venture capital firm or financier looking for investment opportunities of between £150 ~ £2m in the South West? Pitchfest South West, delivered by Enterprise Europe Network in partnership with Innovate UK, will present 10 businesses from the South West currently seeking finance (£100k ~ £2m) to the local investor community.

Businesses selected to present will go through an intensive investment and pitch training programme culminating in two Investor Showcases across the South West. The dates for these events are:

Company 1

The company’s patented real-time detection technology will transform the asbestos market.
As the world’s largest occupational killer, asbestos continues to be monitored in a time-consuming, post-event method that is open to human error, causes costly delays, cross contamination, unnecessary exposure and its associated liabilities.
The product offers a new generation of asbestos monitoring providing a vital first line of defence against prolonged unintentional exposure. Relevant to 30+ global market sectors, it has generated 1,400 global enquiries currently being translating into orders. The team aspire to lead the world in the field of asbestos detection with a range of innovative, patented models.

Company 2

The company is a mobile app that streamlines the ordering process in bars, allowing customers to order and pay for drinks via their mobile phone rather than queueing at a bar.
The product helps venues sell more, promote offers more effectively and ultimately be more profitable.
The business model is different to anything in the marketplace, providing the service to venues for free. Profits come from the customer paying a 10% service charge on each transaction, allowing small independent bars through to large chains the opportunity to implement an end to end mobile ordering solution completely free of charge.

Company 3

The company have developed a platform that achieves something never managed before.
At events, whether weddings, festivals or sport, attendees capture magical moments and share them on social media. Event owners and sponsors get little or no value from this content.
The patented technology captures this content, understands it and using AI, curates amazing branded films for rights owners to share on social media. Fan based content is more trusted that traditional content, gets more views on social and increases fan loyalty. By engaging audiences through social media, communication channels are opened that can be measured and valued as a commercial opportunity.

Company 4

An award winning start-up business delivering the world's most powerful wireless charger. Having spent years researching and developing the market, the patent protected product has already been supplied to several blue-chip companies and well-recognised brands. The product has been designed to be installed to the underside of furniture-making sure it does not affect the appearance of worktops whilst offering the largest charge area on the market. It is compatible with wood, stone, glass and many other materials. Patented with registered trademark, and permission from a large US multinational to use the name.

Company 5

The company have developed novel and scalable solutions to air quality in industry, focusing on environmental and occupational health. The company both builds and purchases hardware, however the main focus is on software.
Now looking for £450k to protect IP and expand the team to meet demand and enable the team to handle 6-fig. contracts in 2020.
Clients include Redcar Bulk Terminal, Nisbets Distribution and Immingham Dock and also in advanced discussions with both Frazer Nash and Skanska regarding larger work packages. We anticipate turnover of £70k-100k in the next calendar year.

Company 6

The company is disrupting the self-employed pension industry. Only 14% of self-employed people save into a pension (vs 90% of employees). There is a huge, untapped pool of self-employed pension savings.
Our simple, flexible pension makes three key innovations over competitors: app-based, automatic saving and explicitly built for self-employed people. The Founding Team is young, technical and innovative and we are backed by an Advisory Team of pension industry experts, plus NatWest Fintech Accelerator. Beta launch to our waitlist users in October. Seed round commencing October.

Company 7

The company is a leading graphene sensor technology company, aligned to be the first to effectively bring the sense of smell to the computing age. Formed in 2018, the company has since developed a market-ready gas sensor, with superior qualities in efficiency and reliability due to the utilization of graphene.
The company is on the commercial radar of several multinationals intent on implementing the first generation sensors into a range of applications. The company combines A.I with its sensors arrays allowing 'design to fit' for specific purposes, solving expensive industry problems and opening up endless possibilities for innovation.

Company 8

People living in shared accommodation currently take on unnecessary liability, waste precious time and overspend on their household bills, whilst also struggling to manage their personal bills as well.
The company offers a platform to set up, manage and then decrease every single bill you ever pay, whether they are individual or shared with others, paid in one affordable bill based on your personal income.

Company 9

We have proprietary solutions that allow us to identify where clients personnel and patients are at any given time and immediately identify bottlenecks in processes. Our sophisticated algorithms then suggest solutions to drive efficiency and capacity gains and savings of up to 10 x the clients’ investment in our services. We are already generating revenue across 12 EMEA countries and we are currently building a platform subscription model to support the delivery and retention of our data, insights and feedback.
