Event Information
Description
Inspired by the ideas presented by the three exhibiting artists, you are invited to come to the gallery and work with local artist, Esther Cawley to create your own abstract body paintings.
Taking self-identity as a theme and using your bodies as tools for creating drawings and paintings, you will experiment with different ways of moving your hands and feet across large sheets of paper to make different marks and imagery, varying speed and scale as you develop your drawings. Working with traditional materials such as charcoal, ink and paint, you will explore the range of marks your body can create. You will go on to work with additional everyday household objects which you will cut up and re-design as mark-making tools, strapping and tying these to sticks, your hands and feet and layering up your drawings to create truly unique pieces!
There will be an 11am – 12pm session for ages 9 to 11 and a 12:30 – 2pm session for ages 12 to 14.
