    Place2Be's Mental Health Champions - Foundation ProgrammeFREE for all voluntary sector and local authority participants.Youth Scotland are delighted to partner with Place2Be to bring valuable mental health training to youth workers (paid and voluntary) across Scotland. We have been granted additional eLearning courses to run this year.Our ambition is for at least 1 person from each member organisation to have completed this training and be a MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADOR for your young people.This online mental health training enhances professionals’ understanding of children and young people’s mental health and introduces approaches that foster positive well-being for them and the adults around them.Course detailsYou will have a dedicated Place2Be professional to join discussions and aid online learning.5-week programme starting 26 November, 2025.Broken down into 15-minute sections to fit around your day (1–1.5 hours per week total).No fixed timings - you can access the programme via any device and work through it at a time to suit you.Modules covered1. Understanding mental health & well-being introduces factors that contribute to positive mental health and well-being.2. Nature and nurture explores how early experiences shape the way we perceive ourselves and relate to others, and how those experiences create the pathways in the brain that support our development.3. How can I help? Considers what a child’s or young person’s behaviour might be communicating about their underlying needs.4. Mental health: everybody’s business. This module reflects on the importance of positive mental health for everyone with a focus on the adults around the child or young personInformation in regard to registration:Please register your interest and we will send you the link to join the HIVE platform 26 November 2025.Please note: to register you for this course we will share registration information provided by you with Place2Be in accordance with our privacy policy.We will only use your information to provide the membership and youth work services you have chosen to participate in. Youth Scotland takes its obligations to any personal data help very seriously and has updated our privacy policy to accommodate new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).How to register:Step 1: Register with Youth Scotland closing date: 26 November 2025.Youth Scotland will then email the Place2Be, HIVE e-learning platform link to everyone who registers their interest for the course on the 26 November 2025.This will be emailed to the address you enter (please double check your email address).Step 2: Course start date is Wednesday 26 November 2025. Place2Be / HIVE platform will send a welcome email on this date with how to set up via ‘Hive Learning’. (This may go into your junk mail - please check this).This course is delivered via an App. ‘Hive’This is not delivered on ‘Zoom’.Each Wednesday thereafter for a further 4 weeks a new module will be released.The course is flexible learning - You choose the time, the place and device you prefer to learn on.Who can participate?Open to all - members and non-members, voluntary sector and local authority.Funding has been provided for a cohort of Place2Be’s Introduction to Mental Health by STV Appeal and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on step 2 of registration. This course is free for all voluntary sector and local authority participants.
