Places of Worship Forum Northern Ireland
Date and time
An opportunity for places of worship and organisations with an interest in faith heritage to meet, share and explore ideas.
About this event
The Northern Ireland Places of Worship Forum is an opportunity for places of worship and organisations with an interest in faith heritage to meet, share, explore ideas and plan towards the future over issues common to the buildings of all faith traditions.
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the next forum in person on 7 June at 11 am at the stunning Clifton House Belfast. This year we are focussing on the heritage of your treasured places of worship and are delighted to welcome our guest speaker Dr Paul Harron from Ulster Architectural Heritage. He will present on one of Ulster's most talented church architects William Joseph Barre (1830-1867), a native of Newry, Co. Down.
At National Churches Trust we have seen many of Barre’s beautiful designs including the First Presbyterian Church (Non-subscribing), Newry which was funded through our Treasure Ireland programme in 2021.
The forum will be chaired by Mrs June Butler, MBE. Places are limited and we will have some social distancing measures in place. This is your chance to add to the discussion about issues and opportunities for places of worship.
The event is free of charge, and anybody involved with historic places of worship in Northern Ireland is welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you.
