This Suicide Prevention training and guided workshop teaches the skills and strategies needed to create an effective safe plan for someone experiencing overwhelming thoughts or in an emotional crisis.

This interactive workshop explores what a safe plan is and features guided practice on how to create one with someone that you are concerned about. During the session you will:

-What a safe plan is and why they are effective

-Explore a range of strategies and modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Theory of Constraints (TOC) and how they can enhance an effective safe plan.

-Leave with their own personalised and completed safe plan.

By the end of the workshop, delegates will have improved confidence and knowledge in how to keep someone 'safe for now' and support them through an emotional crisis or until other help becomes available.

**Please note that this session is suitable for delegates aged 17 and over.

This talk is open to all, welcoming delegates with no previous suicide prevention training and also to those looking for a refresher who may have previously completed Spot the Signs, 10 Tools, safeTALK and ASIST .

Other Courses Like This:

We encourage delegates to ensure they have also attended our Talk Safe session - which is an essential part of our Suicide Prevention Training. This can be done before or after the Plan Safe training.

Talk Safe is a powerful and informative suicide awareness talk. During this session, you'll gain a deeper understanding of who is at a higher risk of suicide, why they may be at risk, and what can prevent them from reaching out for help. Delegates will have the opportunity to review appropriate and inappropriate language to use when talking about suicide, as well as the range of risk factors which may increase risk of suicidal ideation and behaviours.

Please note that Talk Safe, Plan Safe is also available as a full 2.5 hour training session. Our next open TSPS session dates can be found on our website. Each session includes time for Q&A.

General Session Information:

This training will take place online via Zoom.

**Please be aware, we require a minimum number of delegates for each of our online sessions in order to run these effectively, if we are unable to obtain the minimum number 24 hours prior, you may be informed of the courses postponement and will be given the option to transfer onto the next available course.
