Overview

Interactive 3 hour workshop

Planning and running dementia inclusive activities

The aims of this 3 hour workshop are:

• To gain an understanding of the barriers for people living with dementia of engaging with activities

• To understand the benefits and opportunities of activities for people living with dementia and their unpaid carers

• To examine what groups can do to develop activities

We will look at examples of good practice, considering what to think about before, during and after activities, to ensure people living with dementia can be included.

We will also share with you thoughts and examples from people with lived experience.

The Dementia Training team at Age Scotland have developed a new suite of workshops aimed at members of the Dementia Friendly Communities Network. This is a network of Scottish dementia friendly communities sharing support, empowerment and inspiration with people living with dementia and unpaid carers, in their own community. You are welcome to join these workshops as an individual or as a member of group/community organisation (even if you’re not yet a member of the Dementia Friendly Communities Network). To learn more about the work of the network, see Dementia Friendly Communities Network (ageuk.org.uk)

For the other workshops in this series, please see our Dementia Training calendar: Dementia training calendar (ageuk.org.uk)

This online workshop will take place using Zoom. We look forward to welcoming you to our event.
