Planning and Funding Community Building Renewable Energy Projects in Angus
Overview
Planning and Funding your Community Building Decarbonisation Project
Join us for a collaborative event with Community Energy Scotland supported by Angus Council designed to help local organisations take the next step toward energy-efficient, low-carbon community-owned or -leased buildings. Whether you're new to sustainability or looking to boost your project, this event is a great opportunity to learn what works, ask questions, and get support for the first steps of your project.
We’ll cover the fundamentals of technologies like heat pumps and solar pannels, potential routes to funding, and you’ll hear directly from groups who have already delivered successful CARES-funded upgrades.
By the end of the session, you’ll understand what makes a strong CARES Community Buildings Fund application, what typical community-led decarbonisation projects look like in practice, and where to start with costs, energy assessments and next steps.
Funders
This event is delivered by Community Energy Scotland in collaboration with Angus Council and thanks to project funding from the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES). CARES supports communities to engage with, participate in and benefit from the transition to net zero emissions.
Community Energy Scotland is a member-led, independent organisation focused on increasing community resilience and enabling our members to play a significant role in an equitable energy transition.
