Planning and structuring writing
The key to a successful essay, with a logical structure, is successful planning...
Academic writing is like construction, and it pays to decide what will represent the bricks (your choice of topics) and the cement (referenced ideas to glue it together) before you start building the wall.
Planning effectively is, though, a difficult task. This workshop will show you how to be guided by what the question is asking of you, how you can move from this to a deliberate and logical plan, how this can focus and streamline your reading, and how all of this assists with points being in a sensible order, and properly supported, when you write it up.
Failing to plan often means planning to fail... The content of this session may be invaluable in helping you map out your essays for yourself and your reader.
