Course Description:
This course supports activity and care team members in planning and delivering meaningful celebrations and themed events that mark holidays, cultural occasions, and personal milestones. Emphasis is placed on inclusivity, individual involvement, and creative use of resources to enable a sense of community, joy, and shared identity. Participants will learn how to tailor events to individual interests and abilities while encouraging collaboration across staff, residents, and families.
Course Aim:
To provide participants with the tools and ideas to create inclusive, engaging celebrations and events that bring residents together and honour special occasions.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify key dates and milestones that are meaningful to individuals both individually and as a group.
- Plan inclusive themed events that accommodate a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds.
- Coordinate roles, resources, and contributions from staff, individuals, and families to bring events to life.
- Evaluate the success of celebrations and use feedback to improve future events.

As an attendee of the training day you MUST have your camera on during all of the sessions, this is to verify your participation/attendance.
Certificates of attendance will only be issued to attendees who attend for the whole of the session.This course will be delivered via ZOOM and will include, presentations, discussion and reflection, case studies, videos and demonstrations. Please make sure that you are familiar with using ZOOM.
