Things to Consider Moving Forward with the Introduction of NICSS.

The recent announcement that the NI Childcare Subsidy Scheme is to be extended to families requiring School Age Childcare (SAC), is to be warmly welcomed.

However, this additional assistance is not only available for those parents using HSCT registered out of school care, but also to all primary schools who register for Tax Free Childcare with HMRC. This means that parents can now access the scheme to help pay for before or after school activities run by schools.

Whilst it is right that parents have choice, some parents may now choose to move across to school based activities as they tend to be lower in cost and this could impact your school age childcare business financially.
