Event description

Description

Two short seminars by Jeffrey Lermer, FCA and Simon Blum, CTA, that focus on delivering effective tax planning strategies. Jeffrey and Simon have a wealth of experience in this area, and have worked with numerous clients to understand what is important for them. They have developed strategies that have proven to be effective for preserving wealth.

Jeff Lermer will provide first hand insights into tax strategies to consider when implementing inheritance planning. When clients begin to plan their inheritance, there are numerous issues to consider legally, personally and financially. Whilst tax planning may not always seem like an obvious first step, pre-emptive measures implemented in tax strategy can save clients volumes of time, worry and wealth.

Simon Blum will discuss the commercial advantages and tax savings which can be made when clients deconstruct a company, and transfer valuable property (tangible and intangible) to a standalone company. He will also discuss incorporating a property business, the key tax points to consider when dealing with immigrating or emigrating clients, and how to fund school and university fees for children and grandchildren out of pre-tax income. In each of these areas, careful attention to tax regulations and the distribution of assets can save clients unnecessary taxation.

Jeffrey Lermer: Having qualified as an accountant in 1988, Jeffrey set up his own practise in 2003 which has now grown to have 20 employees. Jeffrey regularly lectures and advises businesses and associations on a wide variety of tax related topics. He also speaks on behalf of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants at their budget Seminars.

Simon Blum: Since he passed his Chartered Tax Advisor exams with Grant Thornton, Simon has gained substantial experience across a wide range of taxes, corporate and personal. Simon has provided written tax guidance and delivers presentations, webinars and training sessions to clients, co-workers and other accountants and tax practitioners.
