Event description

Description

Following the announcements on the future of planning policy made this week by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government PAS will be running 3 free events in March and April on the proposed reforms to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 Planning Obligations, including changes to policy on viability .

You will hear the latest from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) including an overview of the proposals and their objectives. This will be followed by a more detailed look at practical implementation. You will hear about experiences of implementing CIL across the country and consider how speeding up the process of both setting and revising a CIL might benefit authorities who have yet to set a charge as well as those looking to review their own. This will include looking at what evidence is required to set clear policies on what development is expected to contribute towards through CIL and / or planning obligations. There will also be an opportunity to look at how Strategic Infrastructure Tariffs (SITs) could work and why removing the restriction on section 106 pooling will aid delivery of much needed development in some areas.

These events will be aimed at Senior Planners, Team Leaders and Heads of Policy.
