Event description

Description

Come along and help our in our 2000m² Living Learning Space at Whitmuir Community Farm.

This is a social session and Catherine or Christina, part of our 2000m² team, will be on hand to give guidance on the task. It’s a great chance to learn new skills, get outdoors and have a natter in good company.

Plant and Rant Sessions happen every Wednesday afternoon and on the second Saturday of the month. Throughout November, December and January, Plant and Rant will run from 1-3pm on a Wednesday.

Volunteers who brave the winter months to come along to the sessions are welcome to turn up early at 12.30pm, when we'll be going to the cafe for soup and a roll paid for by the project. (If it is difficult for you to turn up that early, you are still welcome to come at 2 and just stay for a shorter session). Meeting place will be outside the cafe at 12.30pm - look for Catherine, Christina or Sarah.

At the end of the session there is usually time to pick and take home a share of some of the produce - everything that is picked must be weighed out though to count towards our targets.

Children are welcome and tend to have a lot of fun, but we do as that they are accompanied by adults. Remember to be prepared for the weather as part of this event takes place outdoors and in a muddy field! You will need: wellies or sturdy boots, waterpoofs and warm clothes! If it's raining heavily we will be under the shelter of the polytunnels.

Yes.

Do I need to book a ticket for everyone?

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and Plant and Rant?

Unfortunately we aren't on a public transport route, but we do have a large car park.
