Event description

Description

You might have thought that a lot of the plants with ‘umbrellas’ of flowers are very similar, but did you realise that this plant family includes major culinary and medicinal plants like fennel, carrot, parsley, and lovage?

What is the underlying gesture of these plants and how do they relate to each other?

On this workshop you will:

• Follow the development of living plants
• Look at the metamorphosis of their leaves
• Study the extraordinary movement and dynamics in their flowering and fruiting processes
• Use all your senses to help you to discover the personality and gesture of the whole umbellifer plant family.

Please bring a lightweight folding chair with you.

Michael Bate was head gardener at Weleda UK for 31 years. He qualified in 2018 as a Goethean scientist, specialising in plant study. He is passionate about connecting people and plants in this unique way.

Cost: £50 including a delicious 2-course vegetarian lunch
