Plant Walk at Edworthy Park
Event Information
Description
A plant walk is a guided educational walk through an urban or wild landscape. The best way to learn about plants is through observing and interacting with living examples. At the same time, connecting to your local ecosystem provides an excellent opportunity to build community.
During a plant walk you will learn:
- how to identify plants using the principals of botany
- how to distinguish between edible and poisonous lookalikes
- experience-based recipes and preparation techniques for edible plants
- practical experience-based medicinal usage based on traditional knowledge, modern herbal practice and scientific research.
Families and children are always welcome. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome provided they are kept on leash and the walk location permits dogs.
Please dress appropriately for being outside: adequate clothing for changing weather, water resistant walking shoes, mosquito repellent and sun screen when needed.
Sliding scale tickets ($35-$10) available at: http://www.latifasherbs.com/plant-walks/
Children under 12 free.
No refunds offered except in the event of cancellation. Tickets may be passed on to a friend.
