The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and the Ulster Historical Foundation (UHF) would like to invite you to the launch of Plantations in Ulster, 1600-41: A Collection of Documents by R. J. Hunter.

Plantations in Ulster is the second edition of a PRONI educational facsimile that was edited by R.J. Hunter in 1975. This new edition has been updated and presented in the form of a bound book and includes colour prints and additional documents.

The publication will be launched by Professor Raymond Gillespie and a programme of speakers will deliver short presentations highlighting the significance of a number of the documents including:

  • Robert Corbett on the 1613 Belfast charter
  • John Johnston on the Rent Roll of the estate of Sir William Balfour, Co. Fermanagh, 1636
  • Glynn Kelso on Sir Thomas Phillips suggestions for improving the security of the Kingdom, 1623
  • Ian Montgomery on Antrim estate lease to Toole McAllestor, 1637
  • William Roulston on Robert Algeo’s crucifixion plaque, Artigarvan, Co. Tyrone, c. 1625
  • Stephen Scarth on the Genealogy of Sir William Cole, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, 1630
