Plaques and plinths walk

Eastleigh Town Centre has a rich heritage evolving over the last 150 years. Join Eric, our local history guide, and spy the surviving clues to the age of Eastleigh's growth.

On the day

There is cycle parking outside Sainsburys.

The nearest train station is Eastleigh.

The nearest bus station is by Sainsburys.

Please wear suitable walking shoes and bring along:

  • a bottle of water
  • an umbrella, waterproofs or sunhat/suncream (depending on the weather)

We will end the walk back at Eastleigh Council Offices.

Please Note:

Walk grade: Medium and accessible for all.

Who should attend: Adults and children. Sorry pets are not allowed to join a led walk unless they are a guide or assistance dog.

Child friendly: Yes, children under 18 attending any of the activities must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Walk distance: 3.0 km

Facilities: There are toilets at The Point and Eastleigh town centre.

Access: Most of the route is a combination of parks tarmac paths and pavements alongside quiet roads. Mostly flat with some minor slopes in/out of the subway. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the walk organiser.
