Mujibar Rahaman is a brilliant young documentary filmmaker. He has already directed 45 documentaries in his 20-year career in this field. His subjects include chiefly the great Indians like Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Munshi Premchand, Rokeya Sakahwat Hossain, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray and so on and institutions like the Ramkrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh, Halishahar, the birthplace of the great Bengali poet-saint Ramprasad Sen and Pratappur Darbar Sharif, the birthplace of a renowned Islamic Sufi Saint Diwan Zafar. He has completed an one our documentary film, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and now making a new one on Polashi Conspiracy on behalf of, Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India.
All his documentaries are marked by meticulous research and attention to the smallest details. They have, therefore, earned national and international acclaim, so much so that his work on Rabindranath Tagore has been included as a component of Tagore studies at Jadavpur University and as a part of the course content of English Honours Programme at Edinburg Napier University in Scotland.
