Description

This is a fast-paced two day introduction to plaster sculpture. Learn how to build sculpture from plaster with chicken wire, scrim, steel and wooden armatures.

This is a chance to make expressive and dynamic artwork and explore finishes and effects that can be achieved with working directly into plaster by building and carving shapes.

This course will cover:

  • Working from sketch designs
  • Different methods for constructing armatures for plaster sculptures
  • Mixing and handling plaster safely and effectively
  • Coloured finishes and effects, and strengthening plaster for outdoors.

This course will include one to one and group instruction from the tutor.

Learners are encouraged to bring their own ideas to the course and develop their individual ways of working plaster with guidance from the tutor.
