Come join us at SHRUB and upcycle some of your old plastics and rubbish into fabulous frocks!
We will be holding an awesome trash fashion parade in December to demonstrate how waste has more to it than meets the eye, so our aim for this workshop is to make wearable ballgowns out of plastics and general trash, like cardboard, tin cans, anything you might have laying around your house!
You can create dresses and garments to fit yourself and model them at our fashion show, or make them for willing volunteers!
The theme for the workshop will be flamboyant with a hint of drag so think ‘Ru Paul’, gather up any unwanted anything with the aim to make a brilliant ballgown out of it and come along to SHRUB.
We will supply needles, threads, some mannequins, and glue, plus a few bags of trash!.
Note: for wearability and comfort, if you have a piece of clothing you may want to use as a base (i.e. corset) or a slip dress you could wear underneath that would be brilliant. Comfort is key.
Bring along a cheeky drink and let's kick our Friday evening off to a good start! ;)
