Plastic: It's Fantastic
Sat 15 April 2017, 11:00 – 17:00 BST
This is an amazing one-off opportunity to learn from a master textile artist, set and costume and carnival designer Caroline Jones, who has been working with plastics, in all its forms, for many years now.
We'll be introducing plastic as a raw material which can be sewn, heated, shaped and much more. Caroline will be showing participants how to make plastic fluffy, lacey, stiff, delicate... and everything in between...useful for making anything from masks and headdresses, to costumes and large puppets. Some materials will be supplied and irons to the ready, but please bring any plastic with you - it has to be better than letting it pile up in the oceans!
