Overview

Come and read some great plays and screenplays at the library. No prior experience is needed. Read or act—the choice is yours.

Join us for these weekly meetings at Roehampton Library, in partnership with Hestia, where we read aloud together a selection of play scripts and screenplays—from classic playwrights like Shakespeare and Wilde, to more recent works like those by Tennessee Williams, or screenplays like that of "Twelve Angry Men". Each session focuses on finding pleasure in letting texts speak for themselves, more than over-analysing them. Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend, no prior experience is needed.

If you would like to attend, registration is not necessary, you can just turn up at the session. We circulate printed texts on the day and decide upon the characters we each read out for. Read or act—the choice is entirely yours.
