About this event

Craft a Clay Dragon's Egg

Perched on our museum roof is a mythical dragon! It’s inspired us to delve into the mysterious world of myths and magic.

Craft your very own dragon egg of lore - glimmering with shiny stones and shaped from air-dry clay. Take it home that same day.

Once your treasure has been created, follow the dragon trail through the museum to uncover tales of Somerset’s dragons, enjoy dragon-themed crafts and imagine your own tale of the poison-spitting beast or nightmarish monster within your gleaming egg.

Once a fiery catalyst of labour, the museum’s brick kiln is one of the last remaining in Somerset, now a relic of the past past, the perfect setting for crafting rare and fabled dragon eggs.

Expect surprises, sparks of creativity, and the occasional scream (of joy).

Suitable for ages 2+

Booking required. Each session is one and a half hours.

The Somerset Dragon
