Event Details

Verity McIntosh, Producer, Pervasive Media Studio, Bristol

Pervasive Media Studio Producer Verity McIntosh will introduce the ideas and inspirations behind the 'Playable City' global movement, from street mimes in Bogotá controlling traffic to a rubber road in Russia that lets you bounce to work. Find out more about Watershed's £30k Playable City Award, an international commission sitting at the intersection of art, technology and culture.  Verity will take us through the 2014 winner, Shadowingby designers Jonathan Chomko and Matthew Rosier, and offer some insights into what the judges are looking for this year.  www.playablecity.com

The Pervasive Media Studio hosts a brilliant community of artists, creative companies, technologists and academics exploring experience design and creative technology.  Their projects include gaming, projections, music, connected objects, location-based media, robotics, digital displays and new forms of performance.  http://www.watershed.co.uk/pmstudio/
