Playing On: Tackling the Stigma of Mental Health in Sport
Event Information
About this event
The purpose of this event is primarily to highlight the issues many sportspeople face regarding their mental health and discuss ways we can change this.
We would encourage representatives from local sports clubs, schools and other education providers to come along to this free event. This is an excellent opportunity to gain some insight into the challenges that many face and discover ways to help, find out how sport can aid the recovery process from mental illness, and bring about a new era of openness and, thus, an end to the stigma of mental illness within your organisation.
We have three amazing guest speakers lined up coming to discuss their knowledge and experience in the area. They are:
- Matthew Mason-Hames from Mindset Sports
- Alex McClintock from Andy’s Man Club
- Representative from the outstanding charity Back Onside - to be announced
This is set to be a truly informative evening with the three speakers who we are privileged to have at our event.
Although this event is completely free, we will be offering the option to purchase raffle tickets, with some brilliant prizes to be won, and a sweepstake to raise some funds for some truly amazing causes. More information will be shared about these through our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/TeamAdamXV/. Please be sure to follow this for updates regarding the event and sponsors.
Refreshments will also be available on the evening including light catering from Scott Brothers.
