Event description

Description

PLAYLIST returns to Bitterne Park's The Butcher's Hook Alehouse with another night of fantastic live music we want to hear!

Stanlæy is the artistic pseudonym for the talented and innovative singer and multi-instrumentalist Bethany Stenning (pictured above). A previous audience member described her as sounding as if "Björk was asked to write the soundtrack to Titanic". She will present new material and arrangements at PLAYLIST with special guests.

Ben Jameson (electric guitar) and Ben Oliver will perform British composer titan Laurence Crane’s Some Rock Music for Alan Thomas (2008), a theatre work for two performers. Ivan Hewett described this piece in the Telegraph as "an amusing and strangely touching homage to the "glory and absurdity" of '70s rock”.

Four of the most exciting young folk musicians working in the UK come together for their first ever performance as Garden/Collier/Moss/Hardman. Garden and Collier featured in our April PLAYLIST event at Cobbett Road Library in their duo, The Drystones, and we are delighted to welcome them back in this brand new quartet featuring melodeon player Archie Churchill-Moss who won the BBC Young Folk Award in 2011 with his trio Moore, Moss, Rutter. Brand new material played by brilliant young musicians!

The Butcher's Hook is super small so book now to avoid disappointment!
