Pleasure Build Up
Event Information
Description
Splash Point was once Victorian Pleasure Grounds, this project aims to bring this unloved, overgrown cliff top field back to life as a re-imagined Pleasure Garden.
Join architect and broadcaster Piers Taylor, renowed timber expert Charley Brentnall and Landscape Architect Marc Dix to collaboratively build a structure and design the landscaping for the new Pleasure Gardens at Watchet's Splash Point. Piers, Charley and Marc will be leading design workshops on the evening of Thursday 3rd September, to plan the design of the structure and landscaping. They will then be working with all of those involved in the construction and landscaping over the weekend.
The event is free, and no previous experience is necessary, however the weekend is about sharing skills, learning new ones and working together to create a beautiful public space for Watchet. You can book on for one day, or for the whole weekend. If you can't commit to a whole day, but would like to join in for a short time, please email Georgie at georgie@onioncollective.co.uk
A BBQ and live music will be held on the Sunday evening to celebrate transforming a derelict coastal field into truly exceptional public space, which everyone is welcome to attend.
