This sesstion will address some key health issues for our young population in Tower Hamlets. Multidisciplinary team work is often key to delivering good outcomes and this is reflected in the varied programme. Consultant surgeon Stewart Cleeve will be talking about common surgical problems in childhood and speech and language therapists Clare Round and Sonja Jacobs will present on communication and feeding difficulties. Physiotherapist Linda Walsh will tell us about the latest innovations in delivering community orthopaedic care and present a guide on managing the developmental orthopaedic problems that make parents anxious. Reflecting the needs of our population there will also be contributions from the Royal London Dental School, Public Health and School Health.
The programme will include:
1. Referral and management of children with speech and language difficulties and feeding difficulties.
2.Common surgical problems in children and young people
3.Orthopaedics- the management of common developmental problems in childhood and an update on new methods of consulting from the COOP project.
GP's,practice nurses, health visitors and school nurses are all welcome to attend to update knowledge and network with colleagues.'
