10 week Adobe InDesign for Beginners

In this ten-week course you will gain an introduction to Adobe InDesign software. You will work from prepared files to make posters and flyers and will then learn how to create your own layout for posters and flyers using text and images, create magazines and books, number pages, and prepare print-ready files. You will learn how to create suitable images in Adobe Photoshop for use in your Adobe InDesign designs.
Examples of what can be created with Adobe InDesign. Getting started with Adobe InDesign – creating, sizing, and opening documents
Creating, sizing, and opening documents continued. Basic Adobe Photoshop and importing images
Clipping paths in Adobe Photoshop. Saving files to import into Adobe InDesign.
Working with vector shapes and using the Pen Tool.
Creating a simple A4 sized poster incorporating basic objects.
Building a magazine page in Adobe InDesign
Building a magazine page continued. Page numbering explained and preparing document for print
Week 8 - 10
Students will be encouraged to produce their own documents and personal projects, at their own speed. Tutor assistance and video tutorials will be available covering all aspects of weeks 1-7 in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign

Basic computer literacy.

Please bring a notebook, pen and USB memory stick.
Please note that all courses are subject to student numbers and will only run if sufficient numbers are achieved. Plymouth College of Art reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient student numbers are recruited.
