In this ten week course you will work alongside the editor of a popular lifestyle magazine to gain knowledge of writing, planning, styling, designing and publishing. Explore interview techniques and learn writing and proofreading skills. You will discuss methods of printing from small scale home printing and binding, to large scale outsourcing. You will use Photoshop and Indesign software to build templates and edit imagery. By the end of this course you will have gained enough experience to progress with your magazine or creative publication. No previous experience required.

Introduction to Zines + Magazines
Commissions, Planning and Legality.
The Basics of design. Including image placement, document creation and template building.
Creating a cover and two features for your chosen publication.
Working with the results of the shoot. Editing/transcribing interviews.
Continue working on designs and bring together content.
Printing and production.
Presenting designs and ideas.
No previous experience required.

Please bring a notebook and pen for the first week.
