Description

Using a short two-page pre-prepared script, students on the Advanced Digital Filmmaking course will look at the following:

Advanced Lighting Techniques

Within this session we will look at the use of a range of lighting options including gels, scrim, reflectors and diffusion techniques to enhance storytelling using light and shadow.

Green Screen

In week two, students will learn to create a short scene using green screen technology.

Tracking Motion

Within the third session, students will learn how to assemble professional track and dolly as well as tripod dollies and use them to shoot a dynamic scene.

Advanced Editing Techniques

In week four, students will assemble the footage from the first three weeks and will learn how to cut to build tension and to use green screen footage with compositing and keying tools.

Colour Correction

In the final week students will learn the processes of using Lumetri Colour tools within Adobe Premiere before exporting their finished film for web and social media.

Entry Requirements

Computer literacy is required. Experience with Apple computer’s would be an advantage. Basic film ­related experience is required.

Materials and Equipment

Please bring a notebook, pen and memory stick (8 or 16 GB).

Please note that all courses are subject to student numbers and will only run if sufficient numbers are achieved. Plymouth College of Art reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient student numbers are recruited.
