Life Drawing – Intuitive, Expressive and Experimental Techniques for Interpreting the Figure
This masterclass will explore drawing the figure as an embodied practice and give opportunities for participants to experiment with haptic, interpretive approaches using our senses of touch, proprioception, space, memory, movement and hearing as well as vision.
The students will make a number of drawings using these techniques and take home some new perspectives on drawing as a medium for interpreting the figure.

No prior experience required.
Materials and Equipment
Please bring a minimum of 2 types of drawing materials of choice but as a minimum, willow charcoal and powdered graphite and a soft, kneadable putty rubber. Please bring quality paper/coloured paper of choice and a colour medium of your choice (pastel/pencils/ink).
Please note that all courses are subject to student numbers and will only run if sufficient numbers are achieved. Plymouth College of Art reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient student numbers are recruited.
