Description

If you are aged 14-18 and looking to experience a specialist art form, specific technique or spend a day creating a piece worthy of your portfolio, then our new ‘Master the Art’ series is perfect for you. You will be taught by staff from our full time degree and pre-degree courses, using specialist equipment in subject-specific studios and workshops. All sessions are 9am - 2pm and all materials are provided, just bring some lunch.

Limited fees Bursaries are available for individuals intending to apply for full time courses at Plymouth College of Art.

Master the Art – Life Drawing (25 March 2017)

Location: Life Drawing Room

This day session lead by experienced lifedrawing tutor Fiona Guy will help you to produce at least one portfolio quality artwork. All materials including paper and a professional life drawing model will be provided.

Please note, this session is for 16-18years due to the presence of a nude model. Participants aged 14-15years would also be accepted with a letter of permission from a parent.

Master the Art – 3D Flatpack Design and Print (1 April 2017)

Location: Digital Fabrication Lab

Design and 3D print your own flat packed furniture or sculpture scale model. You will be guided in the use of industry standard CAD and CAM software to realise your own designs in minature. Actual scale designs can then be assembled to create working models to take away which will be of a production standard.

Master the Art – Glass Etching (29 April 2017)

Location: Glass Studios

This day session lead by HE staff member and experienced glass artist Amy Whittingham. Amy will introduce you to glass etching techniques and help you to produce a glass artswork for your portfolio that you will then use heat techneques on to mold your piece into a loose, flat bowl.

All materials will be provided and your finished glasswork can be collected the following week.
