Plymouth Women in Business April WORKSHOP - A Happier You!
Thu 27 April 2017, 14:00 – 17:00 BST
At our April Workshop we are privileged to have three fantastic sessions from Paula Gabriel, Emily Whitehead and Colin Nicklas, who will be sharing their knowledge and skills to help us in our businesses and more widely in our lives.
Session 1: Paula Gabriel, Transformative Personal and Business Coach
'Clearing the Path to Success' - Paula will be talking about stress and anxiety and the impact they have on our lives and a new understanding of where these feelings really come from. She will point to how this understanding can then lead to increased resilience, well-being, clarity and creativity and will introduce a couple of activities which will point you towards seeing this understanding for yourself and give you the opportunity to interact with others in the room and hopefully experience positive connections.
Session 2: Emily Whitehead, Nutritional Therapist and Personal Trainer
Emily has always had a passion for sport which led her to studying for a BSc in Sports, Health, Exercise and Nutrition. She then followed it with a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Subsequently, she qualified as a Nutritional Therapist, Personal Trainer and a BACPR instructor (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation). Emily is a Senior Associate Member of the Royal Society of Medicine and is also a regular contributor to the nutrition and fitness media where she has been featured in magazines such as OK, Top Sante, New, Bella and Your Fitness. She runs her own business based in Plymouth and works with a variety of clients
Emily will be covering the benefits of exercise both physically/psychologically and the risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle. She will be sharing how you can become more active sitting at a desk with some very simple exercises.
Additionally, Emily will be raising awareness on how a high processed sugar diet can impact our health.
Emily will focus one half the workshop on 'exercise' and the second half-ish on 'nutrition'.
Session 3: Colin Nicklas, Business Coach, Leadership Consultant and Inspirational Speaker.
Colin served as an engineer officer in the Royal Navy for 24 years, commanding the Royal Naval Leadership Academy and writing military strategic plans for the Arab Spring in his last two jobs. Since the beginning of 2012 he has delivered performance improvement coaching to the offshore oil industry, written and delivered a number of leadership and coaching courses, supported businesses and public sector departments with strategy development and worked with individuals as a coach and mentor on a commercial basis and as a volunteer.
In April 2010 Colin completed the infamous Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert, despite travelling to Morocco with a broken ankle and he now speaks about his experience and what he learned about resilience and the power of genuine motivation.
In this session, Colin will introduce some of the powerful coaching tools he uses successfully with individuals and teams and will coach attendees to help you identify what is important and the key steps to help you achieve the goals you identify. The coaching session can be used to design the future of a business or project, or for personal success; each member of the audience gets to choose the focus of the session for themselves.
If you believe that you can achieve more in business, or in life, but don’t know how to get started, this session is for you.
