Description

Our speaker in December is the lovely Cindy Willcicks who will be telling us about Operation Snow as well as some of her projects,

Here is a little about Cindy

Project Consultant and Clinical Lead Trustee, Jeremiah’s Journey

Founder and Director of Arterne: Enriching the next generation CIC

Cindy started her professional training in 1997, qualifying as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMHN) in 2000 and has since worked in a variety of community and inpatient settings, specialising in mental health and substance misuse, across all age ranges from prenatal upwards. Cindy also holds a number of professional qualifications to assist her clinical work which includes Independent Non-Medical Prescribing, EMDR therapy, and works systemically to help people achieve their goals.

Cindy joined Jeremiah’s Journey as the Clinical Lead Trustee in 2012 before supporting the board to develop the charity with the day to day running of the charity, as the lead, from April 2016. This has been significant for the charity in delivering the clinical work for families and the fundraising required to support families.

Cindy has an interest in strategic thinking and whole system development, focusing on cultural change, which was enhanced through the completion of an MA in Professional Practice: Critical Issues for Practice Development and a PG Cert in transformational leadership. Cindy has worked successfully in a number of change management & transformational roles, describing herself as 'marmite' and a promoter of acting with integrity and love. Cindy has empowered children, young people and their families to have a 'voice' in service developments. Cindy has worked positively to reduce the stigma associated to the mental health term and in 2010 supported young people to develop a Plymouth's Children and Young People's Mental Health 5 a day for Plymouth which continues to be shared in the city. Cindy has been a key note speaker at a number of local and national conferences, the most recent being the National Primary Mental Health Work Association and CAMHS training, which was in Blackpool in September and Plymouth’s Public Health THRIVE Conference on World Mental Health Day in October.

Arterne CIC was created from a passion to support people to understand the importance of mental health within everyday life and the journey towards being 'the best version of me'. Cindy founded Arterne CIC to support and challenge individuals & communities with the aim to enrich the next generation through a variety of mediums, most importantly coming from a place of love, integrity and energy. Arterne CIC delivers a number of projects supporting this message which include Operation Snow, Platform 50, SEA-ing Changes and Old Kit Bag.

Promoting the message of 'No health without mental health', Cindy also offers a range of individual and group treatments and works with STORM as a National CAMHS Consultant for suicide prevention and self-harm mitigation and as a Regional Auricular Acupuncture Trainer and Assessor in the South West.
