Plymouth’s Festival of Nature is a large community event, which will include wildlife surveying and family activities, to try to count as many species as we can at Derriford Community Park. Our aim is to showcase our wonderful natural world as well as inspiring people to think more green.

The event will run from 11am-6pm with various activities running throughout the day.

To start the day you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers. Then you can plan your day at Poole Farm- sign up to some of our many wildlife walks & find out what’s going on.

In the barn you can visit a number of stalls run by our partners who want to show you the amazing work they've been doing & opportunities to get involved in your local community.

Over the course of the day there will be lots of different expert-lead wildlife walks where you will be learning about the amazing natural world in Plymouth. So, whether you love to count creepy crawlies, or want to survey some beautiful trees, you'll find it all here at Plymouth's Festival of Nature.

For any of you budding ecologists there will be a chance to analyse your findings in our science lab. You will be able to look closely at your sample under the microscope and find out what species it is, with help from one of our volunteers.

We will have the paddock set up with lots of family friendly nature themed activities, arts & crafts, and games. Here you can learn about how to bring more nature to your own home, with activities and crafts. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a large community art piece too!

If you need to find some quiet and shade, check out our chill out space and wellbeing hub- have a rest in for a while before you head back out there for some more nature fun!

There will be refreshments available throughout the day, or why not bring a picnic?

We hope you're as excited as we are to find out what species we have here at Derriford Community Park, and to learn more about your natural surroundings. Remember to wear appropriate footwear, eg, trainers/boots/wellies, and bring raincoats/umbrellas just in case!

So come along to Plymouth's Festival of Nature, get outdoors, and think more green!

Updates for details on parking and travel are ongoing, so please keep an eye out for any updates from us here.
