PMR & GCA Research Roadshow - Keele, Staffordshire
Thu 23 March 2017, 13:30 – 16:30 GMT
Anyone with Polymyalgia Rheumatica or Giant Cell Arteritis will agree that these conditions are under-researched. We all want to know more about what is happening in the world of research to find causes, treatments, and of course, a cure. This roadshow event will bring patients, friends and family, general public and researchers together to find out what is happening locally and regionally. Keele University is home to a unique team of researchers dedicated to finding out more about how PMR and GCA are diagnosed and treated in primary care, i.e. by GPs. As we know, many people with PMR are treated entirely in primary care and are never referred to a specialist. Professor Christian Mallen and his team will share their most up-to-date knowledge and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss the issues raised.
This event is supported by a grant to PMRGCAuk from the Wellcome Trust
