This summer the excavation will be open to the public to see the work in progress, visit the on-site display and view the finds recovered. Open Days will be held between 11am and 3pm on selected Wednesdays in August (more dates for September and October to come). Site tours will be held regularly throughout the day. These events are free but please book a slot for a guided tour.
The site is accessed via Kings Drive. Please note that there is no visitors parking available on site.
When & Where
Archaeology South-East (ASE) is a large team of professional archaeologists with three regional offices: London, Sussex and Essex. We are the contractual arm of the UCL Institute of Archaeology. Our team comprises field archaeologists, artefact and environmental specialists, surveyors and illustrators. We also have a historic buildings department and a team who carry out desk-based research of maps and historical sources. We work with both local communities and business clients to carry out investigations on projects such as road schemes, new business developments, pipelines, quarries and housing developments.
