Event description
On Saturday 26th October, Grimm & Co will be transformed into a magical marketplace full to bursting with imaginative activities.

About this Event

On Saturday 26th October, Grimm & Co will be transformed into a magical marketplace full to bursting with imaginative activities that all beings, both human and magical, are invited to explore. Usually hidden to everyday folk, our secret door will open to all for one day only, with attendees invited into an emporium of wordsmiths. Here, visitors will meet writers and poets, watch performances by acclaimed artists, be empowered to imagine new ideas and new worlds, and perhaps even have a go at penning a poem or story themselves.

Imaginative activities taking place behind Grimm & Co’s secret door will include:

- a spoken word performance and mini workshop from Otis Mensah, Sheffield’s first Poet Laureate

- drop-in mini workshops from acclaimed spoken word artists and writers

- our poetry witch, creating and dispensing bespoke verses for all

This event is free to take part in, and suitable for all from age seven and up. There will be drop-in events taking place in our downstairs apothecary space continuously from 11am – 4pm. Our secret door will then open to allow visitors to explore the activities taking place in Grimm & Co’s enchanted ‘other world’ at the following times:

- 11am – 12.15pm

- 1.00 – 2.15pm

- 2.45 – 4.00pm

This event is free to take part in, but places to take part in our ‘behind the secret door’ activities (which includes Otis Mensah’s performance and mini workshop) must be booked in advance.

Many thanks to our event partners at Off The Shelf Festival, Great Place Wentworth & Elsecar, REMA, and the Ted Hughes Poetry Festival.
