Join us for an afternoon of poetry and creativity with Rugby-born poet Richard Grant, also known as Dreadlock Alien!
Whether you’re a budding poet or a novice, come along to this workshop where you’ll have fun with rhyming games, interactive beat boxing, and poetry performances!

Ages: Ideal for 7 – 14-year-olds (other ages are welcome!)
The afternoon will be action-packed with activity:
- 12.30 - 2pm (bootcamp)
- 2.30 – 3.15pm (performance – family, friends and the public are invited!)
Richard will also be signing copies of his book Ink Air after the event.
More About Dreadlock Alien
Dreadlock Alien is a performance, slam and live literature Poet and is the former Birmingham Poet Laureate who has a passion for live literature poetry.
Of Anglo-Indian and Caribbean origin, his work challenges the concepts of a colour-divided society and reflects his own unique heritage. He believes poetry is a tool for social change that can educate and entertain whilst addressing socio-economic issues, and that poetry is a vehicle for getting messages across to an audience and to stimulate discussion. He aims to challenge people's perceptions of poetry.
