Poetry evening
Event Information
About this event
Join poets Hannah Stone, Oz Hardwick and Ann Gibson for readings from their poetry - and a chance to read yourself, either a poem you have written (perhaps during the workshop in the afternoon) or a favourite poem by someone else. As you will be in a library for this session there should be plenty to choose from! There will be an opportunity to buy signed copies of the poetry books Oz, Hannah and Ann are reading from, and time to ask questions about the business of writing poetry.
Hannah Stone has an MA in Creative Writing from Leeds Trinity University. She has been much published in journals and anthologies and has two collections of poetry, Lodestone (Stairwell Books, 2016) and Missing Miles (indigo Dreams Publishing, 2017).
Oz Hardwick is a York-based writer, photographer and musician, who has been published extensively worldwide, and has read everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to New York, via countless back rooms and pubs. His most recent poetry collection is The House of Ghosts and Mirrors (Valley Press, 2017).
Ann Gibson spent her childhood in Dublin and now lives in Tadcaster. She has always been an avid reader and has, more recently, learned to enjoy writing and playing with words. She combined these interests when she completed a part-time MA in Literature Studies at St. John’s University in York. She has published poetry in Leaf, Blinking Eye, Biscuit and Chuffed Buff Books anthologies as well as Acumen, Prole and Ariadne’s Thread magazines.
