Event description
In this talk, Prof John Holmes will show how poetry can help us to face up to the impact that human beings are having on the environment...

About this Event

We are facing a perfect storm of environmental crises, from climate change to pollution and the destruction of habitats and species. While scientific knowledge and technological innovations are going to be essential in solving these problems, they are not sufficient on their own. We also need to be able to imagine different ways of living with nature and to process for ourselves the knowledge we need to face and the changes we have to  undergo.

In this talk, Prof John Holmes will show how poetry can help us to face up to the impact that human beings are having on the environment and on other living things, and to find the imagination and the hope required to get us, individually and collectively, through to a better, more sustainable future.
