✨ 📚 Special GUEST this month Malika Booker
Malika Booker is a poet and multi-disciplinary artist of Guyanese and Grenadian Parentage. Her writing collective Malika’s Poetry Kitchen has had a major impact on the British Poetic landscape. Booker is currently Creative Writing Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University and the recipient of a Slate Award to research and develop her new play. Malika’s poetry collection Pepper Seed was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Centre Prize and her poem ‘Nine Nights’ was shortlisted on the Forward Prize for best Single Poem in 2017. She was Chair of Judges for the Forward Prize in 2016 and was inaugural Poet in Residence at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Laurie Bolger is a London-based writer and founder of The Creative Writing Breakfast Club. Laurie’s work has been widely anthologised & has featured at Glastonbury, TATE, Sky Arts & BBC Global News. Laurie’s first publication Box Rooms celebrated community & her W10 roots. Laurie was the winner of The Moth Poetry Prize in 2023 & was shortlisted for The Sylvia Plath, Bridport & Forward Poetry Prizes. Her latest pamphlets include Makeover by The Emma Press & Spin by The Poetry Business celebrating the resilience of working class women, autonomy & love.
