This is a poetry-writing workshop & lunch social for adult writers of all stages.
Enjoy a variety of fun, inspiring and investigative exercises in a relaxed environment. Through variety and exploring the unexpected, we aim to stimulate the journey of the developing writer. How do great poems work? How can we generate flow and freshness in our own poems? What doorways and windows can we open to new poetic expression?
The aim of these sessions is to increase confidence and insight into the process of taking a poem from idea to page. Writers of all walks welcome to enrich the scope of thought.
Around 2:00 pm (approx.) we'll have lunch, when we'll eat our main meal, and conduct our main feedback session.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to reserve a reading spot. Please bring at least ten paper copies of any poem you wish to gain feedback on.
What else can I bring into the event?
You will need some kind of pen and paper. There is plenty to eat and drink for purchase at the venue, including a variety of alcoholic & non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks, and snacks. Lunch must also be purchased, but is offered at a special discount for this event. We encourage you to support the venue, and enjoy a shared meal with great company.
Do I have to share work?
We recognise candid, constructive feedback as a key part of writing development. But we also know that for some groups and individuals - or in certain instances - giving or receiving feedback can present an extra challenge, so we support all journeys with generosity. Usually feedback is fun and spirited, though - but take at your own pace.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
