Nope, not a dating event, but if you can write an original love poem, you're halfway there! This double bill is designed to bring the freshness back.
Session 1 Sun 23rd April - I THINK I LOVE YOU: Making the Love Poem New
Session 2 Sun 30th April - IT'S A THIN LINE: Techniques for Love & Other Stuff
12-1.45pm: Enjoy a variety of fun, inspiring and investigative exercises in a relaxed environment. Through variety and exploring the unexpected, we aim to stimulate the journey of the developing writer. How do great love poems work? How can we generate flow and freshness in our own poems? What doorways and windows can we open to new poetic expressions and practices?
1.45-3pm: Lunch and feedback. During this time we will order meals and refreshment, and conduct our main feedback session. Please bring at least ten paper copies of work you wish to gain feedback on. Priority will be given to love poems, or for session two, poems exploring other emotions.
This can be booked as single sessions, or for maximum effect, as a double bill.
What is Poetry Lit Lunch?
Poetry Lit Lunch is a poetry-writing workshop & lunch social for adult writers of all stages.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
For this event, participants must be 18 or over.
What can I bring into the event?
You will need some kind of pen or pencil and paper. Please do not bring food or alcohol onto the premises. There is plenty for purchase at the venue, including a variety of alcoholic & non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks, and snacks. Lunch must also be purchased, but is offered at a special rate for this event. We encourage you to support the venue, and enjoy a shared meal - but do pace yourself.
Do I have to share my work?
We recognise candid, constructive feedback as a key part of writing development. But we also know that for some groups and individuals - or in certain instances - giving or receiving feedback can present an extra challenge, so we support all journeys with generosity. Usually feedback is fun and spirited, though - we're sure you'll come to love this part!
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
