About the Tutor

Adam Kirton is a poet, teacher, and researcher with degrees from Cambridge (BA, MA Cantab) and Birkbeck (MA, Medieval & Renaissance Literature and Culture). He has taught English from secondary to postgraduate level, serves as an AQA examiner, and has led whole-school reading initiatives in London. His creative work appears in anthologies including Modern Poets on Viking Poetry and Almond Press’s Apocalypse Chronicles. Adam’s current research explores Chaucer, literacy, and social mobility, and he brings that love of language into practical workshops that focus on voice, image, and clarity. Drawing on varied experience—from museum work to public service—he helps writers shape honest, disciplined poems that connect with readers.
